ReadyVariant vs Salesforce CPQ

Looking for a Salesforce CPQ alternative? Start with where your quotes begin.

Salesforce no longer sells Salesforce CPQ to new customers and points them to Revenue Cloud Advanced. If you are a manufacturer choosing CPQ now, the useful question is whether you need a quote-to-cash platform on Salesforce, or a way to quote schedules from the price books you already publish.

01

What end of sale means

Salesforce says it no longer sells Salesforce CPQ licenses to new customers. Existing customers keep their licenses, can add users and renew, and no end-of-life date has been announced; the product is supported but no longer receives new features. New customers are pointed to Revenue Cloud Advanced.

02

What Revenue Cloud Advanced covers

Salesforce describes Revenue Cloud Advanced as covering the product catalog, pricing, quoting, constraint-based configuration rules, contracting, order management, asset lifecycle management, amendments and renewals, with billing in Revenue Cloud Billing. Its configurator evaluates product selections with a constraint model, built in a no-code Visual Builder or in CML. That breadth suits companies that run sales, contracts and billing on Salesforce. 03

Where ReadyVariant is narrower, and why that can help

ReadyVariant is a standalone workspace for manufacturers who quote from a published price book: hollow metal doors and frames, windows, louvers, and grilles. You upload the price book as CSV or Excel, confirm how each sheet converts, and check it against quotes you already sent. Then you import schedules from CSV, Excel or PDF and issue branded quotes that customers accept online with a PO. There is no CRM to adopt first, and no contract, subscription or billing management.

04

Questions to settle before choosing

Do you already run sales on Salesforce, and must quotes live there? Do you need contracts, subscriptions or billing? Are your rules already written in your price book? How many lines does a typical schedule have? If the answers point to a Salesforce-centred quote-to-cash process, evaluate Revenue Cloud. If they point to price-book quoting from schedules, run a ReadyVariant pilot with one product family. ReadyVariant has not published paid pricing, and this page makes no cost comparison.
