FAQ

Before you bring your spreadsheets.

A few practical answers to help you decide whether ReadyVariant fits your first product family.

01

Do I need to write code?

No programming is required for supported combinations tables and rule-file formats. You still need to review the mapping, resolve import issues, and verify the results against your own product knowledge.

02

Can I upload any Excel workbook?

CSV and XLSX uploads are supported, but not every workbook layout or calculation model can be turned directly into a configurator. Start with a clean combinations table or the supported door-rule format. Excel macros, formulas, and external links are not executed.

03

Does ReadyVariant calculate tax or freight?

The current quote flow uses USD prices and quantities. Tax and freight are not included. Prepare final unit prices in your source data and review the quote before sharing it.

04

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes. The public door demo lets you change options, see sample prices, and download the source CSV without an account. Create a workspace when you are ready to try your own files.

05

Are my uploaded spreadsheets public?

Workspace uploads are accessed through your account. Public sample pages use demonstration data. If you deliberately share a standalone configurator or token link, anyone with the relevant link may be able to access it; review what you share.

06

What should I measure during a pilot?

Compare the time needed to produce a known quote, the number of clarification steps, and whether the configuration and price match your reference. Repeat with several representative products before using a new setup for customer work.
